Are you feeling distant from God or unworthy to approach him? Is he too busy for you or are you feeling judged by him? Most of us, within seasons of our journeys, have experienced a great distance from God. Below is a visual exercise that can establish an opportunity to create a new relationship with the Most High.
All of us at some point have felt that God is unapproachable. If we could visualize God many of us may see him like the Abraham Lincoln Memorial in DC. A stone man looming over us in authority and judgment. But would you be surprised if I told you that God is really your advocate? He fights for you, cries over you, loves you, sends angels to protect you and seeks a meaningful relationship with you. Would you be surprised if I told you that God is the kindest person you could ever know?
John 15:13
Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

For this exercise, find a quiet and safe place. You will need to concentrate. I suggest writing what happens as you go. It will help you to focus. This exercise is supposed to flow easily. If you feel you're getting really stuck and lost then please contact me and I will help you through it.
Everyone will experience something different. Some of you may find yourself in a vision and others may feel impressions or see words in your mind. Tune into your thoughts and listen to what they are saying to you. Be aware of how this makes you feel. Most of the time the Lord will talk to you in a tone and language you understand. It will be different for everyone. The thoughts may even sound like your own voice. That's ok! Just flow with it.
Note:
If you hear/feel anything or see anything negative within... I want you to know that is not God. It's just interference. The compassion of our God is gentle, merciful and giving. The dark will come at you with accusation. So stop your session and throw out the negative. Start again to look for the true and correct love of God. This may take a little while to get the flow going. That's ok! If you're a seer or have frequent dreams and visions, then Jesus/Father/or Holy Spirit will be full of light. There won't be any colors of spots, specks or halos. He has no spot in him. 1 Peter 1: 19-20, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. (NIV)
Common dialog to toss out sounds like this:
I love you but...
You need to try harder....
I've made you to be a warrior. You need to be stronger...
You are my son/daughter but...
Look inside yourself to become stronger...
You need to read your bible more...
You should've...
Grounding or Earthing
First, have a notepad close to you as you inner dialog. Closing your eyes will help your concentration. Breath in as slow as you can and then exhale slowly. Do this 4-5 times or until you feel relaxed. As you breath, feel the pen in your hand. Feel the chair or the blanket texture underneath you. Hear the sounds around you and be present with your environment. Let the cares and thoughts of the day float away from you. (tip - if you're feeling too much chaos in your head, then write everything that is interrupting you on a piece of paper so you don't have to remember it. That way it won't trip you.)
1- In your imagination, look on the inside. What does your landscape look like? Is it dark or light? Are you standing on grass or perhaps a beach? A dirt path? A place that looks like another planet? Are there trees or animals around? Valleys or mountains? Look around your environment at everything there is to see. Are there smells or is there wind? Is there sunshine? Feel it on your face. You are always invited to come back to this place and explore it further.
2- Now visualize the part of the Godhead that you feel the closest to. Or maybe you're more comfortable with one of the angels of God! Where is he standing? Is he in front of you or on a distant hill? Look around you, above you and below you. Be patient because he is really there. He never ever leaves us, no matter if we feel close to him or not. If you see him in front of you, then you're ready for the next step. If he is a distance away, ask him to come closer. Remember that God is a gentleman. He will never go where he is not asked. He will never force his way to you. You have to give him permission to walk toward you and be with you. If you have asked and searched and are feeling really stuck, then please contact me.
Hebrews 13: 5-6
"... I’ll never let you down, never walk off and leave you,” we can boldly quote, God is there, ready to help; I’m fearless no matter what. Who or what can get to me?
(MSG)
3- Be patient in listening to the voices in your thoughts. Remember to write everything down. Yes/No questions are the easiest to discern.
Now that Jesus/Holy Spirit/Father/angel is in close proximity to you, ask him what he wants you to know today. Wait for a response.
Ask him what he loves about you.
Ask him what gifts he has given to you.
4- Tell him you're ready to see the bridal chamber. Take his hand and ask him to take you there. Open your eyes on the inside and look around. What do you see? Are you in a small room or an outdoor space? Are there windows? Look out your window. Are there chairs, a bed, garments that surround you? How are you feeling? What sounds do you hear? Is there music or sounds outside your window? If your outside, where are you standing? Can you smell the grass and the trees? What does your sky look like? Are there animals near you? Are there flowers? What do the flowers smell like?
5- There is a mirror that I'm going to ask the angel of God to pull in front of you. Look into the mirror at your image. Write down what you see. How do you look? How old are you? What are you wearing? Are you wearing shoes? What does your hair look like? Look at everything. What emotions are you feeling when you look at your image? Does this image bring up a memory?
Psalm 91:11
For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.
(ESV)
6- Now I'm going to ask the angel to change the mirror into how God sees you as his beloved son/daughter. Ask God to show you an image of how He sees you. Your garments have changed. What do they look like now? What are you feeling? What do you feel God is saying to you? What else does God want you to know about his love for you? Ask him what gifts he has given you. Ask him what he created in your destiny.
7- Imagine God taking your hand. Give yourself permission to step closer to his face. Look into the depth of his eyes. What do you see? What colors do you see in his eyes? How do they look back into you? What else does he want to tell you? How does he love you? Ask him what he wants you to know about today. And what he wants you to know about your journey.
The place where you're standing is a very personal space that exists between you and God. He is all about relationship and he extends an invitation for you to return anytime. Let peace and the depth of love fill you today. I pray the compassion of God's mercies stay with you through your journey.
